Article 1: OBJECT1.1. Each year, the TOTAL Group, having its head office at 2, place Jean Millier, La Défense 6, 92400, Courbevoie, France, being registered with the Nanterre Company and Trade Register under number 542 051 180, organises Discovery Days, hereinafter designated the "Event", for students from target schools.
1.2. This Event is open to residents of France and other countries. Only the students of Business Schools, Engineering Schools, and Universities are entitled to participate.
Article 2: HOW TO ENTER2.1. The Event is announced by a communication campaign. An e-mail is sent to the students and students' associations of the Colleges and Universities for which TOTAL has e-mail addresses.
2.2. Entries for the Event can only be made online, via the website
www.total-campus.com/discoverydays. The Site can be accessed using a computer connected to the Internet. Since the connection fee is free for schools and universities, there will be no refund.
2.3. The Event is open to students who are of legal age on the first day of the enrolment in one of the grandes écoles or universities concerned. These schools must be one of the public universities or grandes écoles specialising in business or engineering authorised to participate.
2.4. To be eligible to participate, each student must visit the Site and create its file by entering the information requested (college / university, personal information, motivation letter, CV, e-mail address, etc.).
2.5. An application form in which one or more of the details required is/are inaccurate will not be taken into account and by law, will automatically render the student’s participation in the Event invalid.
2.6. Within two hours of submitting his/her enrolment form, each student receives an e-mail confirming that the enrolment form has been received.
2.7. TOTAL selects students to attend the Event based on the number of available seats and other selection criteria specified on the Event website.
2.8. The participation of a student in the Event in no way obliges TOTAL to employ the student thereafter or to offer him/her an internship with TOTAL, act as an international corporate volunteer/ volunteer for international solidarity or offer him/her vocational training.
Article 3: REIMBURSEMENT3.1. If participation in the Event involves travelling, Total will consider partial or total reimbursement of the travel costs (e.g. on the basis of a 2nd class French railway return ticket in France).
Reimbursement will not be automatic: the procedure for obtaining any refund will be specified where appropriate on the Event website.
Article 4: RELEASE OF LIABILITY4.1. Participation in the Event implies knowledge and acceptance of the characteristics and limitations of the Internet, especially with regard to technical performance, response times for consulting, querying or transferring information, risks of interruption and more generally the risks inherent to any form of connection and transmission on the Internet, the lack of protection of certain data against possible misappropriation and the risks of contamination by viruses circulating on the network.
4.2. Under no circumstances, therefore, may TOTAL be found liable for the following (non-exhaustive list):
- contents of the services consulted on the Site and, more generally, all information and/or data available via the services consulted on the Site;
- transmission and/or reception of all data and/or information by Internet;
- Internet malfunction preventing smooth functioning of the Event;
- failure of any reception equipment or communication lines;
- loss of any electronic or conventional mail and, more generally, of any loss of data;
- routing problems;
- software problems;
- the consequences of any virus, data-processing bug, anomaly, or technical failure;
- any damage caused to the computer of a contestant;
- as well as all and any technical, material and software failure that prevents or limits the possibility of taking part in the Event or damages the system of a student.
4.3. It is hereby specified that TOTAL may not be held liable for any direct or indirect damage resulting from any interruption, malfunction of any kind, suspension, or termination of the Event, for any reason whatsoever, or for any direct or indirect damage caused in any way by connection to the Site. It is up to all students to take all the appropriate measures to protect their own data and / or software stored on their computing equipment against any such form of attack. The connection of any person to the Site and the participation of the students in the Event are under their full responsibility.
4.4. Under no circumstances may TOTAL be held liable in cases of force majeure or unforeseeable circumstances beyond its control.
4.5. TOTAL reserves, in all cases, the right to modify any or all previously published dates or times. Modified dates or times take effect immediately on the Site.
4.6. TOTAL reserves the right not to publish the remarks made by students using the "Contact and FAQ" features of the Site.
4.7. Any modifications to same made during the Event are announced online at the Site and are considered as modifications to the present Rules and Regulations and as such are filed with Alain SARAGOUSSI, Bailiff, 79 rue Réaumur, 75002, Paris, France.
Article 5: SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION5.1. It is hereby agreed that, except in the case of obvious error, TOTAL is authorised to use for its own purposes, and especially for the purpose of establishing authenticity, correctness, or omission, all programs, data, files, recordings, operations or other elements (such as monitoring reports) in either digital or electronic form, that are set up, received, or archived directly or indirectly by TOTAL, in particular in its information systems.
5.2. These elements are used particularly (but not exclusively) as grounds for student selection..
5.3. The students agree not to dispute the admissibility, validity, or conclusiveness of the above-mentioned elements in either digital or electronic form, on any legal grounds whatsoever stating that some documents must be written or signed by the parties concerned in order to be considered valid.
5.4. The above-mentioned elements are considered evidence and as such, if produced by TOTAL in the event of any dispute, legal or otherwise, they will be considered wholly admissible, valid, and opposable between the parties in the same manner, under the same conditions and with the same conclusive force as any document drawn up, received, or archived in writing.
Article 6: PRIVACY POLICY6.1. The contact details for all the contestants are used in accordance with the French law dated 6 January 1978 relating to data processing, files and freedoms, or any other law that overrides it. Contestants have the right to access, correct, or withdraw their personal data. It may be exercised by mail to the following address
ndupuy@rencontres-metiers.com. The TOTAL Group may need to use these data to improve the tracking of enrolment files.
6.2. Participants agree that their participation in the TOTAL Event, in accordance with the provisions relating to image rights, includes the right for Total and its partners to use their media image for the purposes of communication about this contest and for their own account. The photographs and videos may be exploited and used by Total in any form and on any media worldwide, including in-house magazines, websites, communication leaflets, posters, advertising campaigns, and newsletters. These photographs and videos are intended to highlight the image of Total's Relations with Higher Education. Consequently, they will only be used in a promotional manner. This authorisation is valid for 10 years from the date of the Event.
Article 7: EVENT DATES AND MODIFICATIONS7.1 The Terms and Conditions apply to all students indicating that they wish to attend the Event by filling in and submitting an enrolment form.
7.2. TOTAL reserves the right to modify the Rules and Regulations and/or Site at any moment, without notice or requirement to explain the modification. TOTAL declines all and any liability arising from these modifications.
7.3. Any modification to the Rules and Regulations will be filed with Alain SARAGOUSSI, Bailiff, 79 rue Réaumur, 75002, Paris, France, and will come into effect as of its publication on the Site. By their participation in the Event, students tacitly accept said modifications as of the date of their publication on the Site. Students that refuse the modification(s) automatically withdraw from the Event.
7.4. TOTAL reserves the lawful right to suspend the Event at any time without notice and without justification. In such case, in no way may the liability of TOTAL be incurred and, therefore, may the students be entitled to any compensation whatsoever.
Article 8: GOVERNING LAWThese Rules and Regulations are governed by French law.
Article 9: INTERPRETATIONAny doubt concerning the application or interpretation of these Rules and Regulations , or any unanswered question, will be decided upon without appeal by TOTAL under the direction of Alain SARAGOUSSI, Bailiff, 79 rue Réaumur, 75002, Paris, France, custodian of the Rules and Regulations, in accordance with French law.

10.3. Participation in the Event implies unconditional compliance with these Rules and Regulations in their entirety, with netiquette, and with the laws, regulations and other legal texts applicable in France.
